Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Research Scientist to join our research lab. As an Assistant Research Scientist you will work on integrative computational analysis of GWAS and single-nucleus multi-omics data to understand mechanisms of disease predisposition with a focus on diabetes and related traits. Leadership of an e/caQTL work. Takes responsibility for directing one or more important functions within the lab. Function as domain expert for one or more important functions within the organization. Disseminating findings by writing manuscripts for peer reviewed publication and presenting findings at national professional meetings. Write for proposal applications and perform critical review of scientific literature. Create work breakdown structures to prioritize work, coordinate resources, and track progress across large programs/initiatives.
Typically manages and supervises analysts; mentors more junior staff; review and supervise their activities to ensure consistency and performance. Training PhD, masters and undergraduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows in data analysis techniques. Mentors students in critical thinking for research project design and data analysis.
Typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. Studies design, planning for future research projects.

Background Screening
